ERIC GARENCE

Eric Garence is an artist born in Nice in 1980.

A graduate of the Sorbonne and the Skema Business School of Sophia Antipolis in marketing, Eric started his career at Texas Instruments then joined a Parisian group where he took over the management of the digital agency. In 2016, a change of direction, he returned to the Côte d´Azur, became a poster artist and create his online gallery www.bonjourlaffiche.com

He has since been made famous by the creation of a large number of posters on the Côte d'Azur and Provence in a neo-retro style in which he hides details that tell the story of the place.

Eric Garence's creations can be found today on products from major brands such as Fragonard, Galeries Lafayette, Nivea, Labello and Côte d´Azur France. He also signed the poster for the official residence of the President of the French Republic, Fort de Brégançon, or the poster for the Régates de Deauville. Its posters are also featured in a large number of Tourist Offices including Saint Tropez, Menton, Bormes-les-Mimosas, Trouville-sur-mer, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Dieulefit, La Colle-sur-Loup and many others.

In 2020, he released his first book "La Côte d´Azur d´Eric Garence" with Editions Gilletta, a collection of his 70 most beautiful posters of Provence and the Côte d´Azur.

In 2021, he signed a major collaboration with Maison Lenôtre Paris, creating the graphic universe of Christmas 2021 and Epiphany 2022. On this occasion, he designed with chef Guy Krenzer the signature “Christmas cake 2021” as well as the “Galette des rois 2022” thus succeeding artists - designers like Philippe Starck (log 2006), Camille Ortoli (log 2020) or Kenzo (log 2011).

At the end of 2021, he opened his first gallery " Eric Garence Workshop & Boutique" on the road to Saint Paul de Vence from La Colle-sur-Loup and signed the poster for the legendary Régates Royales de Cannes.

In 2022, Eric Garence will be honored in the exhibition “La Côte d'Azur s’affiche” at the Galerie Lympia in Nice, retracing 100 years of posters from the French Riviera by offering him the entire room devoted to "French Riviera Today". On this occasion, the posters of Eric Garence officially join the archives of the Alpes Maritimes department and now appear alongside the famous posters of Marc Chagall, Raoul Dufy and Jean Cocteau.

His inspirations come from poster artists and advertisers from the turn of the century such as Roger Broders or Raymond Savignac, but also from new realists such as Yves Klein, Arman or Raymond Hains.
